Online Lead Generation is not that difficult but what you need to begin with is a solid sales and lead capture strategy.

This means you need to have a good offer and a good lead capture system in place.

Are you looking or online lead generation?  You are not alone.  Everyone thinks that online lead generation is the way to go, and it is.  However, because of the low costs of lead generation online as well as the ease of execution, you will find that you have a lot of competition in this areas in any industry.

But I have some good news for you as well.  Most people are trying to do it themselves and they think it should happen quickly.  That means that people will try one online lead generation strategy for a few weeks and then give up.  The people that have success online with lead generation are the people that have a long term lead generation stategy and they continue to execute it over time.

Because I work with many clients in this area, I can tell you this is the most important thing.  People will ask, “How long should it take” but it is not the correct question because it depends on the competition and a little bit of luck in your particlular industry.  I have seen people get results in week and other not get very good results even after six months, but it is not a question on the online lead generation strategy.  It is a question of commitment, industry and long term effort.

You can succeed with lead generation online but remember the winners are the people that keep at it and set goals and measure results.

Collecting Email Leads

Building your email list is important to your business.  Collecting email leads can be done in many different ways, but mixing Internet lead generation with off line lead generation is often overlooked.

For example, I recently did a two day trade show.  We incorporated tools that we use online like a high value free offer, better engagement and educational slants that ended up netting us over 400 people that want to be added to our email list.

Now we spent thousands on this show and it was not easy, but when you consider the value of a targeted lead like this then you can see that is a very good value.

Keep in mind that we talked to people and they know they will be added to the list.  We will not blast them with sales because that would quickly hurt our relationship with the email leads we collected.

It is safe to assume that if you think out your strategy there is going to be a lot of off line ways to generate email leads for your business.

Blog Lead Generation

Automated lead generation can be created when you use blogs to generate leads.  WordPress lead generation is especially effective.

The key to effective WordPress lead generation is to begin with targeted keywords and use a WordPress Lead Generation theme and SEO plugins to target your keywords that your target market is searching on.

But be sure that you do not pick keywords that have too much competition on them.  It is better to target keywords that have relatively good traffic and lower keyword competition.

Then when you set up your blog lead generation site, make sure you have extremely clear calls to action.  If you do not do that, then you will probably not generate leads even though you will begin to attract people to your WordPress lead generation site.

Now with that in mind, there is still a very important thing that many people do not take seriously.  Linking to the site and sub pages in the site are critical to get good ranking.  I choose to link to tag pages with exact or similar keywords that are targeted keywords.  This works well assuming you have set up everything well.

Then you want to measure your results.  I use Google Analytics to measure the traffic and I use the Buzzoodle SERP reporting tool to monitor my ranking in the search engines.

That is it.  Regular blog writing, linking and setting things up properly can produce a very effective blog lead generation site that will make you money.

Automated Lead Geneation is not a Crutch

 

Of course, the smart thing to do in sales it talk about how your product will cure all the ills of a potential client.  However, when it comes to lead generation I like to be very honest with people – because they tend to hear we can generate leads and they do not understand the process very well.

Automated lead generation is possible in many industries with our online lead generator techniques.  However, it is not a button we push and does not happen quickly.

Basically, you can create a Website (in our case a WordPress Lead Generation Blog) and put content on it that will attract targeted keywords, which you have determined are keywords that buyers are very likely to be looking for.

Over time as your site is ranked higher, by a combination of SEO, Writing Articles, Linking and Social Media Integration, you will attract more leads to you and this becomes automated lead generation.

However, this does not take the place of many other good lead generation strategies.  I am currently helping a company revamp the entire sales process and our strategy is one of sever strategies we are recommending and working on.

The key is to have realistic expectations, a limited number of strategies you can work on and measure and keep fine tuning your process to get them to produce better sales results on less time.

Do not buy any product that is promising automated sales leads and imagine that it is going to produce magical sales.

Now with all those warning, I can tell you that clients that have given our approach some time to work have sometimes seen massive results.  Complete game changers for them.  But that really depends on your industry, your focus and the competition in your marketplace.  It is not even close to the same for everyone.

So by all means find automated lead generation tools and try them, but do not stop doing the things that are working.

How to Generate Insurance Leads

Certain industries have it easier than others when it comes to lead generation.

For example, insurance lead generation is hard if you try to do it on a national scope.  Even state will be difficult.

But oddly enough, a lot of people search for a certain type of insurance in a local area.  And this is where the insurance lead generation can really be powerful for the local insurance broker.

For example, when I first bought business insurance I did not know what I needed, but I started doing searches on business insurance for the city we were located in.  To my surprise, it was hard to find and many of the sites looked very unprofessional.

I finally bought the local business insurance from someone I met via his website.

So is generating insurance leads easy or hard?  It depends on your approach.  Local insurance that might not be as common as car or home owners insurance can really be very powerful – especially in small to mid sized markets where there is not a lot of competition.
