What are the tricks to build a powerful lead generator for your business?

However, if you are serious about building a lead generation system online you need to understand that you are going to have to think through your product, your target market and your available time and resources and try to build the most effective and efficient lead generator strategy for your particular goals.

Your lead generation strategy should have a clear call to action and you should make it extremely easy for someone to be converted from a casual website visitor to a prospect.  This can take many forms, such as signing up for a demo, downloading a white paper, taking a free email course or buying the product directly from your website.

A lead generator is any system you build online that attracts people in a  target market and converts them to leads that you can follow up with.

There are many strategies, such as search engine optimization, Adwords, social media, lead generation with joint ventures and more.  Sometimes, you can combine a few of these.  For example, you can use WordPress to do better search engine optimization and also automate many parts of the social media with the WordPress site as well.

But what is important for you is to consider your target market and the best way to reach them.  That is how you will decide on the best lead generator strategy for you.

 

Lead Generation Systems

The goal of any marketer or business owner is to grow a profitable business.  To do this, you need to build efficient, effective systems.

Not one system, but systems that work together and have a clear goal for each system.

How well you define the goal and steps of each system will have a big impact on how well the system performs.  For example, if you build a marketing system that’s goal is to use marketing to generate sales, you are being too broad.

  • SERP – Where you rank in search engines for targeted keywords
  • Traffic – How many people are coming to your site and how many pages do they visit.
  • Sales – Actual ROI on the system.

Just remember, if your lead generation website is producting traffic but not sales, it does not mean your site is a bad strategy.  It may mean that your call to action is weak or your closing sales process is not good.  Any given part of the system that is not good can cause the entire system to fail.

If you are unfamiliar with generating leads online, you might be out searching for one piece of online lead generation software that will cure all your problems.

That is akin to looking for one piece of software that does all your marketing – it does not exist.  Although there are big packages that will help you tie together many Internet Marketing activities.

What you really want to do is to do a flow chart of what your lead generation strategy looks like.  Then buy or get free lead generation software that can do the key parts of it for you.

Inbound Marketing is when you build online resources that attract buyers to you instead of you going out and getting them.  Sounds magical, right?  The disadvantage is that it takes time to develop and see steady results, and it takes work or a decent budget to hire people to do the work for you.

However, I have seen this produce some big results for some clients in as little as two to three months when they really took the marketing strategy seriously.

So if you are looking for lead generation software, start by mapping out your lead generation strategy and identifying those pieces you need.  Here are some things you may need depending on your approach.

1. Lead Capture Software – Usually part of your CRM or Autoresponder

2. Keyword Research Tool – To help you identify target keywords and target markets.

3. Blog Writing Software – which can help you write and link faster and easier and get better SEO results (this is the primary purpose of our software)

4. Analytics – You can get free software to track analytics such as visitors and you can pay to have SERP (where you rank for keywords in the seach engines) monitored as well.  Our software includes SERP for you as it is what drives your results.

5. CMS – A system for managing the content on your website.  We recommend the open source free software WordPress.

6. Misc.  There are some other things like you may need video editing, audio, image editing and more. 

All of this is involved in Inbound Marketing.  The good news is this is a low cost lead generation strategy that gets stronger the longer you do it and much of the lead generation software is free or very low cost.

Tips for Successful Lead Generation

Successful lead generation starts with knowing your target audience.  Without that, it is impossible to target just the best leads for your organization.  This is a list of questions you should ask yourself about your target audience to see how well you know them.  Get more clarity around these and you will have much more successful lead generation in your future.

  1. How old is your target market?
  2. What gender is your target market?
  3. What do they care deeply about?  Profits?  Family? Freedom?
  4. Why do people in your target market buy from you?
  5. What kinds of searches does your target market do when they need your product or service?
  6. What is the biggest obstacle to selling to your target market?
  7. Where does your target market spend time online?
  8. Are there groups or forums that your target market hangs out in?

I am sure you can quickly come up with even more, but these are the kinds of questions you need to answer to improve your lead generation efforts.

 

 

How To Start a Lead Generation Business

 

A lot of people join our system to build a lead generation business.  I certainly welcome that, but there is a big difference between building a profitable lead generation business and generating leads for your business.

The biggest difference is that when you are generating leads for your business, you already have a product or service to sell.  You have a business and your online lead generation is simply another source of new customers.

But building your own lead gen business you are doing something that is much broader.  For example, while a CRM works well for a single business, it is not a good tool to capture and sell leads to multiple clients.  Instead of using an autoresponder or a CRM you are going to have to buy or build specialized lead capture software.

Then, not only do you have to capture leads, but you also need to sell your servcies to people that are willing to buy leads on a regular basis.

Also you are going to have to support the client’s including refunds and problems.

Also, while our SEO and blogging strategy for lead generation works really well for most of our clients, it would not easily produce enough leads to support the level of inquiries you would need to support many clients and many industries for your lead generation business.

We can be one important avenue to generate leads, but you are also going to have to master paid ads, advertising and other avenues of traffic to build a profitable lead generation business.

Also remember that it will take time to build sites and master the other marketing activities.  A lead generation business is not going to take off right away, especially if you are focusing on SEO strategies.
